3a Read the article。Underline the things you should do.

1. What do traditional Chinese doctors believe?

They believe we need a balance of yin and yang to be healthy.

2. How do you decide if you have too much yin or too much yang?

If you are often tired and weak, maybe you have too much yin. If you are stressed out and angry, maybe you have too much yang.

3. Can you give some examples for yin foods and yang foods?

Yin foods are tofu and things like this. Yang foods are beef, Dangshen and Huangqi herbs and things like them.

4. Is Chinese medicine popular in western countries?

Yes, it is.

4 Groupwork Who is Dr.Know?

Choose a problem from the list below. Then ask your classmates for advice. The student who gives the best advice is “Dr. Know.”从表格中选取一个问题，然后向同伴征求建议。谁给提最好的建议谁就是Dr.Know。

4. Eating Dangshen and Huangqi herbs is also good for this. 这句话里面有两处要留意。Eating Dangshen and HuangQi herbs是个动名词短语，在句中作主语。这样的结构我们以前也见过。再如：

Teaching is my job. 教书就是我的工作。

Playing soccer is his hobby. 踢足球是我的爱好。

句中短语be good for是“对……有好处”。如：

Having a good rest is good for your health. 休息好对健康有好处。

Doing eye exercises is good for your eyes. 做眼操对眼睛有好处。

5. It’s easy to … , and It’s important to ….这个句式结构很常用。可归纳为：

It’s + 形容词 + to do……　，表示“做某事…..样”。再如：

It’s difficult to answer this question. 回答这个问题很困难。

It’s important to learn English hard. 努力学习英语很重要。

6. Then ask classmates for advice.

　 向你的同学征求建议。（请你的同学提出建议）

　 advice意为“建议，忠告”，是不可数名词。

　 一条建议　a piece of advice

　 两条建议　two pieces of advice.

　 一些建议　some advice

　 与advice搭配构成短语的有：

　 ask sb. for advice　 请……提出建议

　 give sb. advice　　　给……提出建议

　 take one's advice　　采纳某人的建议

　 refuse one's advice　不听某人的劝告、忠告

　 “有关……的建议”应用advice on /about sth.

　 e.g. I'll give you a piece of advice on how to learn English well.

　　 　 我将给你一条关于如何学好英语的建议。
